Three ex-police officers in the Town of East Greenbush

Can someone explain the sudden disappearence of three East Greenbush Police? I understand one was fire, the second was given an opportunity to resign and the third? the story is still too fresh to have all the facts...

  2. Well, if this helps.. was at the last board meeting.. and something about.. one caught at bar in Albany with two sixteen girls.
So that might be one reason one is gone.. not sure about others.

  3. Like almost everything that goes on in East Greenbush taxpayers, good citizens, regular folks will probably never know the facts and the truth.
East Greenbush is a seething mass of corruption and evil. Hiding the facts and the truth is a critical component of every corrupt enterprise that has ever existed and, unfortunately, our town is another very real example.
Arguments about personnel policies should NEVER take precedent over public safety and the rights of citizens to know what is going on around that may affect them.

  4. I know what happened in each case, except the first of the three. More of my concern is that when Schenectady police had issues, it was front page news. From my VERY rough calculations, Schenectday had approximately 1 -2 % of their force with problems leading to dismissal. East Greenbush is more like 20% and yet no news coverage. Why not?

  6. First and foremost, let me express my complete pride in the hardworking, honest and dedicated men and women in our police force. Some I know personaly, some I don't. The majority of the force are true professionals and yes, even in East Greenbush, when they put on the uniform, they are putting a target on their back. Thus said, it is not now and has never been about bashing these fine citizens of our community.

What has raised my curiosity and concern is that the news media seems to miss every oportunity to expose East Greenbush in the media for illegal acts, corruption in government, etc. We are a community situated in the heart of the Capital Region that has much to offer, geographicly and as a community. We are five minutes from downtown Albany and yet are a suburban/rural community. We don't have Northway traffic and yet we see bus service deminished every day. We have a living thriving community, but don't have sidewalks to walk to the grocery store or our kids to walk to school. We have a major project (FedEx) in the planning without such as a peep in the Times Union regarding it's plan. We don't have exposure to how much the tax revenue will be impacted, or traffic or other items of the project. Sigh, I am way off topic here...

Three East Greenbush Police Officers in the recent months have been terminated, allowed to quit and/or are in serious trouble as we speak.
#1. Ex-Officer Cook, is gone. Not completely sure if he was fired or able to resign and have no idea what happened to him.
#2. Ex-Officer Bohl, is gone. He was allowed to resign after he was caught using his shield to get two 16 year old girls in Jillian's nightclub in downtown Albany where he reportedly was observed "doing shots" off their stomachs. Further info is the girls parents didn't want to press charges because their daughters are in sports at Columbia High and signed a contract not to get into trouble. If they pressed charges, the girls would have been banned from sports at school. So much for the contract teaching them to be responsible. Way to go parents! Not at all sure why Albany Police didn't press charges especially after a SGT. lost his job after covering for a drunk Albany detective driving through Albany crashing into parked cars and through Bethlehem to his home. Alledgedly, Ex-Officer Bohl can apply to another police agency as he was never charged!
#3. Current -Officer Snyder alledgedly was at a friend of his home while on-duty. This home was in Schodack! Also alledgidly an argument ensued and the female friend keyed the officers portible radio and bits of the argument were transmitted over the air. Also, alledgedly as somepoint, someone in the home called in a domestic dispute at the residence.

The above information in the case of #2 was discussed at a Town Board meeting. and in case #3 is spread through informal channels throughout our community, but from reputible sources and would not have been placed here if I didn't believe them as credible.
Anyone with additional information or corrections to the above is welcome to post here as there is no filtering of postings on my blog. I do not censor or pre-read any postings. So far this has worked well in my small group of readers. I hope this continues and this blog remains a source where I can express my opinions and facts. I try very hard to not post unconfirmed information.

  9. Timmy's post from 9/27 is deeply offensive. How disingenous can you be? "Is this just a rumor ..."???? Well it is now but, of course, that was your purpose.

  12. I am sorry to say, that for the first time since beginning my blog, I have found it necesary to remove some comments and to change the settings to allow me to approve comments before they are posted.
The first comment I removed was from Timmy, that posed a comment about a minor and a political candidates family that was just rude and uncalled for.
The second and third were from a person who couldn't even identify him/herself and standup to be identified to back up his/her comments and childish ranting and poor language. He/she called me out to get out from behind the computer screen, but did so with an anonimous handle. You want me to grow a pair? My name and phot are at the beginning of every comment I post. So if you want me to post comments from you, start signing them.

  13. Just tumbled into your Blop :OP. - Comment about the 2 girls parents' not pressing charges because they play sports, and don't want them in trouble...HUH!
As a parent my child would have been grounded, no sports or no electronics for a LONG time. I would have pressed charges...Not because he is a cop, nor that he is older...Just because he used his BADGE to get them in!

  15. There was an article in the Occtober 16 Troy Record that Officer Cook is on medical leave, so that leaves two resignations. The EGPD website states that there are 18 patrol officers. The average turnover rate is about 14% and the average new officer only lasts about 33 months - http://policechiefmagazine.org/magazine/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_arch&article_id=697&issue_id=92005
